I had the ultimate honor of photographing this sweet girl in the Golisano NICU on Friday as she spent some koala time with her darling mama. I was expecting to get a few grainy photos where we could hardly see the baby, and we would have been happy with that because this was NOT the shoot we had planned for...

In truth, I don't think any mama ever plans to visit her newborn in the NICU.

What we managed to get was SOOOOOO much more! Everyone at that NICU was amazing! Her nurses were gentle and sweet, and they all had smiles on their faces. I think it is safe to say that she is in wonderful hands as she grows....

Honestly, these two girls were the sweetest- calmest- most incredibly strong people I have met in quite some time. Being around them together was so special, it was VERY hard to go at shift change...
