Storytelling Feature: HANDS
So, thanks to the “stay at home” orders raging ALL around me, I am not shooting. Haven’t shot in 41 days (besides creating films for my kiddos) and I am ITCHING. Really badly…. enter, my genius idea.
{Side note: isn’t it funny how all our ideas come when we CAN’T put them into action? Like in the middle of the night, during an argument that should have started differently, when our kids are ALREADY grown out of that stage, or during a world wide pandemic?!?}
Weekly Storytelling Features!
I decided to spend time in celebration of all the sessions that have already come and gone.
To spend time and story efforts on diving deeper into the story behind the images I share.
To create and write and explain and inspire through focusing on some of my favorite moments in shooting.
They won’t be weekly necessarily, but they will showcase my absolutely treasured memories from the lens of a storyteller… hang on, it is going to be an emotional ride!
Storytelling Feature 1
H A N D S
A long time ago, when I was just a budding photographer, I took a class on storytelling.
The instructor said "When all else fails, follow the hands..." I took that to heart and quickly realized THAT is where the story is made.
Hands hold,
nurture,
stroke,
comfort,
support,
encourage,
heal,
and correct.
Hands are the very essence of expression and love. And so began my love affair with capturing people's hands. In fact, the obsession grew so much that I have to remind myself to photograph peoples faces during a session.
This week, I am going to be featuring my absolute favorite images and stories of my favorite muse: hands.
Follow along and "hold my hand" [Sorry had to do it } through this emotional and detail rich feature... enjoy!
